Mattyd's New Spanish Girl

Well as some of you may know, I recently sold my Fabia vRS after a few years of ownership. I just fancied myself a change and after looking at Megane Renault Sports, Golf GTI's and Octavia vRS's, one late night searching on AutoTrader I found this,

Its a Leon FR TFSI, pretty much standard aside from the 18" Alloys which I think set the car off quite well. Its a really different animal from the vRS but I love it. Feels so much more refined and focused. Dont get me wrong I loved driving the Fabia and it was a really great car, but this is just something else. I love the noise it makes and the way it handles. The engine is a gem, I know its the same as the one in the Octavia vRS so I'm preaching to the converted here, but its so torqey for a petrol and just pulls all the way for you. Its nice and smooth when you are stuck in traffic and just going along at a steady speed. The ride can be a little firm at times, some of the interior plastics are a little harsh and feel cheap and the fuel economy is pretty bad compared to the Fabia but I knew that before I bought it. Drive it sensibly and it will do 37 to the gallon on a run. Its nicely equipped as well, Dual Climate, both front seats have height adjustment and a really easy Bluetooth system are the highlights.

Overall I'm really impressed with the car, its great to drive, looks smart and feels pretty solid. Looking forward to many happy miles together.

Looks nice mate, I do have a soft spot for the Leon Cupra in this shape. Any plans for her?

Cheers, I just thought that it looked a little more stylish than an Octavia vrs in the end. Nothing so far I don't think. Maybe a bigger spoiler for the boot but that's about it really.

Shame about the interior. I find it shocking!

Well its been an expensive few weeks for the Leon. Most of it was planned, a couple of things wernt mind you! She's had a new set of discs and pads all around, had a service with the timing belt and water pump changed, a few dents taken out and a trip to the bodyshop to get a little bit of paintwork done. Its had a rear spoiler fitted and I thought that would be that. Alas tho, last week the Air Con Pump went so its had a new one of those as well. Its a great car tho and I've had a day out in it today, took a few pics and this was my favourite of them.
