Are these heated?

Featured Replies

I was wondering if any of you could help me and tell me if these seats are heated. I was told they were not by the seller. After investigating I'm led to believe that all the S3 Recaros came with the heated pads just some were never wired in as it was an optional extra is this true?

Those don't look they have the heater connector block fitted.

The red connector block (2x paired wires) are for the two electric motor setup as per the S3 seat.

I've heard the same - that they all have the elements just not all are wired. Whether it's true or not i don't know i'm afraid!

My set (factory heated) had another connector block for the heating elements just below the red one in your pic. I bought a kufatec loom to wire in the electric adjustment and heated elements which made it easy enough to wire up.

Don't happen to have a link to the loom do you? Only I fancy a warm bum with my S3 seats, which have the connector, but currently going to nowt.

I thought the heated looms on the vag seats are green?

This is the loom i bought - took about 5 days to ship over from germany (kufatec didn't have a .co.uk site when i ordered so don't know if they have a UK distributor nowadays?!) http://www.kufatec.co.uk/shop/product_info.php/info/p461_c22_Seat-Heating-w-Seat-Adjustment---Harness---VW-Golf-4.html

If you already have the electric adjustment wired in then you could use this: http://www.kufatec.co.uk/shop/product_info.php/info/p132_c22_Seat-Heating---Harness---VW-Golf-4.html

You will also need two heated seat switches from a golf or s3.... I just got mine off ebay. All in all it's not a cheap way of doing it, but the price i paid for my set (which are virtually new  ) i could justify it to do the job 'properly' and have a kind of oem setup.

The loom itself just uses a spare bay in the fuse box mounted under the steering column and takes a feed from the side/headlight switch to illuminate the heated seat switches when your lights are switched on.
