digital readout of speed

Featured Replies

Hello

in regard to the face lifted Octavia's and the display that you look at

Does this display give a digital readout of the speed you are doing ?

Or will this readout only be displayed on cars with " maxidot "

It only gives that read out if you have maxidot and you have someone with VCDS who can change the car to an australian profile

Er, not quite correct.

If you have maxidot the speed is always shown digitally as default BUT its in km/h. You don't need vcds to enable it.

If you would prefer to have the digi display in MPH then you need vcds to change the country code to Australia.

Clearer?

:)

Yep, thats clearer now, thanks :)

ah, sorry, might be a country difference! Your speedos are in kmh and ours are in MPH. So to get a big MPH display it needs VCDS (over here anyway).

Thanks Are these gear change indicators any good at all though ?

I presume it just tells you to change when you hit 3000 revs or something.......and not very intuitive ?

Yep, non maxidot on my Octy shows gear recommendation, not that I take any notice of it as it shows change up way early IMO !

BTW my non maxidot shows kmh in small numbers at the bottom. Cycling through the display (mpg, trip etc) it does seem a digital mph is in the menu, but just shows " - - - mph" !

On face lifted Octavias, is there an easy way to tell the difference visually between a car that has maxidot and one that hasn't ?
