Brakes with remap

Featured Replies

Hi,

Planning on getting a stage 1 remap done on my fabia VRS, and I was thinking about brakes.

Do I need to upgrade to 312mm or will I be ok with just vented and grooved discs and decent pads?

Thanks

Chris

Im runing at about 180 on standard size brakes wiv grooved discs and mintex pads n its fine ebay £150 job done al round

Wouldn't bother with discs, just up grade the pads and brake fluid.

Upgrade the brake fluid? Is that to just better stuff?

Need new pads and discs anyway. Are some better than others?

Personally I'd stick with own discs. If you want more stopping power go for competition pads from ferodo or paid and get super dot 4 brake fluid.

Do you suffer from brake issues now? If not then don't bother upgrading.

No problems at present, se what it is like after the remap and go from there.

Cos between new performance pads and discs and for a second hand set of 312mm doesn't seem so different.

Will keep my eye out!

Thanks

Get a set of 312 worth every penny and best thing i ever did to car.

312mm callipers ordered! £60 for both from a scrap yard! Hopefully they will fit under my rims! Also ordered pads and discs from euro parts £55 with discount! Not bad in my opinion,

You need calipers and carriers not just calipers. Personally, I reckon if you've not got issues at present you won't when remapped. My brakes are fine in everyday use... However, if I drive it like my other car and zoom up to each T junction etc... They fade after about 2-3 goes...

They are included! I prob won't need them but rather be safe than sorry. For the cost i am not to fussed.

Thanks

If you look at the seat Ibiza Cupra tdi, it has 312 AP brakes. I would uprate, if you are going to make it go faster, it needs to stop better, I would recommend 312, best mod I did!!

That's what the father in law said. Just hope they fit under the 16inch rims, got some from the seat Leon cupra from 2000. Fingers crossed!

Yeah they fit under 16" steels
