Beetle Rsi Mega Thread

Featured Replies

Lovely car - missus had a Beetle few years ago and it drove very well.

Firstly very nice work and this is one of those cars that you either love or hate, personally as my Mrs own's one you have to appreciate the effort that has gone into this motor even if it's a little OTT, as for the detailing nice work...........

Full machine correction would cost about £300 plus

I don't do this for money just a hobby really. I can put you in contact with local detailers of you wanted a full on pro type job. As above though feel free to join me one weekend at my barn and use whatever you wan on your car

Briskoda detail meet anyone?

It was on DW but I got banned from posting in showroom as someone claimed I was running a business which im not!

Long story but their loss for not having the thread lol

Just thought I would add my 2p to this, I am similar to yourself but over time I got told to stop posting within this section on this forum so I am suprised this thread is still here, I also suggested holding a 'Briskoda Detailing Meet' for the forum but was again stopped by the powers that be, always seems a shame that there are some good people on these forums that want to do things for others but are sadly not allowed as the offer of doing something for nothing always comes back to money, I do hope that if you organise something it is well received.........

As for your thread being removed from DW, they are very hot on it at the moment........... :wonder:

I posted a teaser of this last week and the car is now complete so here is the full write up.

As far as we can think this must be the rarest production car in the UK unless anyone else can think of a car with only 1 currently in the UK? :thumb:

Link to how many left http://howmanyleft.c...n_beetle_v6_rsi

Only 250 were made all left hand drive and only available in Germany so it was up to UK dealers to import them to sell and put on a forecourt for £50,000 :doublesho:

I am fully aware that there are many haters of the Beetle so please keep your comments to yourself. I myself am not a fan of the generic beetle shape however this car is not a normal beetle by any means. Honestly if you ever get the chance to look around one take it as you soon see why they were £50k. The attention to detail and amount of REAL carbon fibre around the car is untrue.

I unfortunately didn't get any 'real' interior shots of the full alcantara headlining and repositioned stereo due to the dials where it normally would be. This was down to the fact the owner wanted this back the same day so attention was spent on the outside mainly.

So here goes there's lots of pics but i think this car deserves them :thumb:

On arrival the car was very very clean already a credit to the owner and the fact it lives inside so a quick walk round inspection to see what lay ahead

A quick showing of the amount and quality of carbon on this car.

Full door card (notice windy windows to save weight) Also believe all the metal interior parts are titanium to save weight :doublesho:

The car had recently a a little break upgrade. The car belongs to my boss and when he heard i was stripping my Skoda Octavia VRS he snapped my hand off to get these Porsche Cayenne 6 Pot brembos for his Rsi

Dirty Arches

The Beetle has a much smaller front end than the MK4 Golf this engine is from so its shoe horned in slightly

And so the cleaning can commence

First a treatment of Autobrite Magifoam the best on the market for cling and cleaning

Which was left to do its thing for about 10 mins as the sun was out (kind of)

Whilst the foam was dwelling i cleaned the wheels with Autosmart Smart Wheels through a foaming head and using Ez large and small brushes and envy brushes to agitate

The tyres and arches were sprayed with diluted Autosmart G101 and agitated

Nah it was all smarts then we moved as rent was ££££££ so built our own units in Brownhills by national tyres.

Yes used Jody a few times and this beetle went there too for its brakes to get fitted

Dave

Very nice. Never seen one before!

The beetle RSI is my guilty pleasure, wouldnt have a standard beetle but there is something about the way the RSI looks that i love, very similar to a V6 clio. If i won the lottery it would be in my garage.

I did have the pleasure of going out in one, whilst at school i did some work experience at my local vw garage in gloucester, the beetle had not long been out then, and the owner of the garage had a Beetle RSI, his was in blue, when i was there it was actually for sale on the forecourt, but one day i went with one of the salesmen to the audi garage he owned and we took the RSI (Soooo quick ).
