Hi all, bought a 2010 Octavia S 1.6 CR just over a year ago. I suppose you could say I'm a serial lurker, I check this website most days, it's been great for all kinds of information. Finally need some advice on a few things, so thought I should introduce myself first.

Bought the Octavia from Alex Laurie in Liverpool, didn't really shop around because we needed a car quick. As long as it had a big boot, good mpg and ISOFIX, we were happy. In hindsight I should have looked harder for an SE, the S spec is rather sparse in terms of refinement!

My 2023 1.5tsi SE L has a rear knocking noise from the suspension, it sounds like the boot isn't secure but it is.

I bought a sportline flat bottom steering wheel but it was the heated version with the view button. I knew the airbag would have a bit of a gap but I didn’t like how it looked or felt overall. So I now have that for sale if anyone is interested. I am on the hunt for a round leather steering wheel. Version with phone button not view button, but with the DSG paddles. If anyone can point me in the direction of the correct part number or even if you have one for sale please let me know!

I do need to change my lovely (but aged) 2010 Fabia 1.6tdi so went looking for a year old 1.5tsi DSG SEL, found a nice one at a local dealer but when looking at the finance side of things, it worked out similar to buy a brand new one (via Carwow prices) due to the Skoda contribution and the lower APR on a PCP. So here i am, about to order a Smokey Silver 1.5tsi DSG SEL, but i have never ordered a new car before so am a bit ' giddy ' on what to add in options..... The spare wheel is a given and f

Hey guys, Sadly it's looking like my Octavia days which have been pretty brilliant could be at an end, unless I can find a replacement engine. Looking like a blown head gasket/cracked/warped head so it's not driveable now and boiling away (95C+ even without the thermostat in). It's also had a burning engine oil issue for years. So my options are: Say goodbye to my brilliant Octavia ☹️ Try and find a replacement engine, throw it in and hope. Downsides are obviously they are bound to be old en

I'm driving my early 2020 Octavia (mkIII) Scout (2.0L diesel DSG-7) through France, and only after I filled up (31L of the 55L tank) from the "diesel" pump I noticed the marking "B10" which apparently really exists about only in France, I'd never heard of nor seen before, and is officially (per Skoda) not compatible with this engine.
