Dampers no good?

Hi all,

Just sorting out my fabia (putting back to standard) and I've got my original dampers and springs out of the shed. Should they be very very easy to compress? I dont remember them being like this when I stored them and they have been boxed since about 2005.

Was hoping to put back on the car rather than the eibach that is currently on my fabia.
