Can any1 give me some advice, my battery light started flashing on way home and wen I was parking I heard a whining noise which seems to be coming from the alternator belt, can any1 help, thanks

Yep...sounds like your battery is on it's last legs or you have a charging system problem. However, if the alternator was making a whirring noise when you were parking this could indicate that the alternator itself is ok as the electric power steering uses more juice when parking and if the battery isn't supplying that it would come from the alternator directly, probably kicking in another couple of poles too. So it would indeed make more noise. If you alternator belt is slipping that makes a noise too but tends to be a screeching noise. I doubt that's the problem. Best bet is battery going out to lunch!
