I blew a fuse under the dash in my pursuit of the switched ignition switched power, replaced it. But now i have the airbag light on. I have scanned for codes, no codes... any idea's?

would disconnecting the battery for a bit maybe reset it?

Try it for 10 mins m8 should reset any warnings. What sorta code reader you using?

Blue point and vcds free

VCDS-Lite can be used to reset the airbag warning

Am I missing something with the vcds? i have just done an auto scan and nothing comes up? even though i deliberately disconnected airbag on drivers side? it always trys each number contoller3 or 4 times is this correct or is my cable **** or shot?

Help, i wish i had never touched anything under dash now.... :(

You can't do an autoscan with the unregistered version of VCDS-Lite. You have to enter the module and view the fault codes for that module.

see http://ross-tech.com...-functions.html

tried that, says cant connect to module... wondering if i knocked a connector in top fuse box behind slam panel....

Go into options, check you have the correct com port selected and press test. What does the popup say?

Then save it. the only other thing i wonder is, what is the 15 amp fuse above the main block right under the dash? the big fuses, and connections?

Com port 1, interface found Ross tech....

Does it mention K-line?

Do you have the ignition turned on when you try to use VCDS?

Just tried to connect to a couple of controllers, engine, central locking and airbag all say no response from controller. starting to wonder if its the cable?

There is something wrong with the COM port configuration or Laptop. Make sure that the Laptop isn't going into power save mode (running at half speed, etc).

Go into device manager and confirm that your cable is on COM1. You can confirm this by unplugging the lead and watching which port disappears. You can also try changing the COM port to another number under properties->advanced. If you see a latency setting on that page, then make sure it is set to 2.

Laptop is showing it as com port 1 latency is set at 16 so will change to 2. and change to com port 2. does that mean i need to change the little micro switches on under side of cable to 2 as well.

Test now says good. but still wont connect to controllers.cable has 4 switches on it, how do they need to be aligned? wondering if it's anything to do with those?

thank u for the massive help by the way. :sun:

Most cables don't have any switches. Do you have a picture?

Front of cable

Back of cable with switches.

In fact thinking about it, hasnt been able to connect with vcds full stop. but will connect with the bluepoint reader.

The only time I've ever seen a cable with switches, is one designed for Fiat ECUs. Just try all 16 combinations and hope that one setting works.

just read something about baud rate, so going to try that. as well.

I think I am going to get another cable as not one single combination worked. then start again. but thank u for your help. i may be back in a couple of days when have new cable
