I had an ebay one! Same problem didnt work!! POS

I've got a similar eBay one but without the switches - I bought it when we were all enabling auto-windows. Found it worked best when set as COM3, latency set to 2 and a USB transfer rate of 64 bytes transmitting and 64 receiving. Had no probs with VCDS then.

Ok guys all you people having problems with leads making good connections to various modules.

This is my experience and may or may not apply to any of your situations.

Was pulling my hair out with my lead . Must have spent hours on forums and with the car altering settings, com ports, baud speed etc---you name it I tried it---was about to sling the thing in temper when I read on tinternet

that a non factory radio can stop the lead connecting----thinking " what a load of tosh " but having nothing left to try I disconnected my non factory radio and bish bosh ---what do you know ----full connection with all modules.

AAAAAAAAAAAH ! ---- when I think of the hours wasted.

Not sure if this is specific to my situation or vehicle only ( wife's 2001 Seat Alhambra ) but for the 5 mins it takes to disconnect a radio may be worth trying.
May well apply to VAG vehicles in general ?

I have 3 other VAG vehicles including a YETI and all connect   fine ----- but all have  factory fit radios

Maybe there is someone of here with far more expericnce of VCDS than me ( not difficult  : )   )

Good luck

Hey RW

Thats a great link --- thanks and explains things a lot better than I could.

Must admit I didn't  find that when I was looking. All I found was a suggestion on one of the VWforums and followed it up.

Hope its of some use to anyone still having problems with the not being able to communicate properly through their cable.
