hi everyone,im goimg to buy a turbo inlet pipe i need advice which one though do i go for a metal neuspeed one or a samco rubber type and wheres the best place to get one in getting one quickly and discount wise and are they worth while getting one, have read threads about them but no yes that they are the dogs b*****k's.

i need help thanks

whether they work depends on your other mods.

take advice from a reputable tuner.

unless you plan further mods for track use there would be little point imho.

i went to painfull lengths to change mine for a all in one samco item only to be told by the tuner that i visited that it was less efficient thatn the standard item, in fact they fit the standard one to other cars as it improves them

I have the ABD turbo inlet pipe, and when I asked Jabbasport if they would fit it for me they refused on the grounds that it wouldn't help the remap at all. This is in a time when the performance kings rated the TIP as 2nd best mod to your car... Make of that what you will.

i too have heard from jabba that smaco hoses are no better then standard...all they do is give a diffrent colour pipe! at great cost

There's an ABD one for sale on eBay at the moment - item number 7966556817

Let's face it, unless as Ffelan says, if you intend to do lots and lots to your engine then fine because you will want to find every little gain possible. However if this is all you fit then I bet you will not be able tell any difference in your "on-road" performance with the standard TIP over say an ABD pipe.

But, if you like shiney bits on your engine then why not (other than the fact you can't see the TIP easily once fitted).

On my old AGU engine it made a noticable difference, in particular to spool up time. I removed the TIP when I sold the car and fitted it to my Octy, I have to say the only noticable difference was the increased turbo whistle. If you are planning to do more then go for a TIP that replaces the upper rubber part too as that is the part where problems have been known to occur when running high boost levels.
