Octavia interior light

Featured Replies

Has anyone got a pic of the back of the interior light. Decided to carbon a few bits of the dash and stuff. Pulled the cabin light apart to wrap around the buttons but something went ping. And the lights went out. It's to do with the switch that goes from doors to constant power. Need a pic to see how it goes back together.

Does this help at all?

Yup. Seems like I'm missing the spring that holds down the metal plate. Knew i was missing something. May have a good look tomorrow for it.

If you can't find it, this could be the perfect excuse for the W8 upgrade :-)

That looks interesting. Is it just a plug and play job or what? Where can I purchase one and how much roughly?

Lets just say if you have to ask then too much lol

Nice. Found a thread. Now I want. More of mine had a superb and always though they looked cool. Didn't know you could retrofit into octavia.

On the other hand. I found my spring but non of my interior lights are working. Anyone know which fuse they are as I haven't got a manual.

I got my W8 light for £25, but that's the exception rather than the rule... very easy to fit and looks immense!

Would I be correct in saying these are the part numbers for skoda?

Part numbers:

Light: 3B7947105F2EN

Plug: 3B0972706

Wires: 000979131A - two off required.

Just fitted superb/w8 light bought off ebay. correct green button lights with red cats eyes. But it's beige, so now after a gray one.

Then to do interior door handle white leds ala superb.

You can do the door handles too? Why have I not heard about this before lol.

I made my own w8 unit.... much cheaper :-)

Wtf? Door handles? Noone mentioned that before! Need a how to guide now lol

Got any pics of your diy w8 mod?

Yeah. Love the superb door handles. That little blue/white led. Looks deadly.

I did write a whole thread on here about it once upon a time, not sure where it is these days. I can easily give you a link to all the pictures (some might see a bit like duplication, I didn't reference them all in the post I made).

As for the door handles - I wanna see what they look like.

That's what I thought you ment. Seen them on my mates superb. They look cool. Can you retro fit them on octavia or how do they work?

Read the S3 thread.

I would think just take power from the light circuit on the electric window switches on each door. might use just a 3 or 5mm round led with a dropper resistor, so will just need a hole drilling in a similar place to where the rectangular led is in the superb. Note this is better than the s3 position as skoda handles are manufactured the correct way round. VW and audi always have the handles A$$ about face. :giggle:

you can buy 12v LEDs do no need to worry about the resistors
