yes the red warning light, posssible cause?? 2.5 v6 tdi - never had any symptoms like this before, but just had a full diagnostics run because of the ongoing saga of the emmissions workshop light coming on at irregular intervals

If the oil pressure is low then you will run the risk of serious engine damage. There must be a pressure sensor switch, which could be sticking and giving a false reading. Oil pump failure is another possiblity.

does the 2.5 v6 tdi have the same pump as the infamous 2.0 version?

\in experienced views if \i have had the red warning light flash on a couple of times but now does not show is this a warning to change or has the damage been done because my local garage who i use and trust is 30 mls away from my home?

The VP44 fuel pump is known to fail from time to time... Not the same issue as the 2.0 TDI which is 100% certain of an oil pump failure. I'm not sure what the problem could be though,

Hi, my 2005 1.8 Auto T has a similar issue. If I try to drive off immediately, oil light comes on, however if I let the car 'idle' for say 30-60 seconds then drive off everything is fine?

Car has had full service, new cam belt and water pump and apart from this issue drives like a dream.
