Hi all, managed to pin this one down a bit further. Once the fuse box cover is dropped down amongst the small boxes there's a grey one marked up 18, 30/98. The chuntering noise is coming from that and that's what's knocking out the fan. Having just checked it once home following a reasonable run, it also feels quite warm to the touch.

Hi, yeah I think it's relay related. If it helps further the small grey plug in unit has a part ref on - 191 937 503 & as I said on the top visible face 18 and below that 30/98.
