Due 2 front tyres soon for the MOT and at the moment have nankangs on which have done ok for pottering around town and the odd motorway trip, However I found that they were not to good when it was wet.

I am after a middle of the road tyre and there seems to be good deals near me on Firestone and Avons I can get 2 for £100 just wondered which ones are better I have heard of firestone but new to Avon although I have heard of them.

Having had both on my old Fiesta Van the Avons are far the better tyre for your requirements. Both types saw in the region of 20k on the front and 45k on the rear.

May go for the Avons then, like I say i have heard of them but thought they were a cheap low budget brand.

Hi, I'd endorse Avons personally. Easily get 20 to 25k out of them & good all rounders.

Just as an update, recently tried to source Avons at my local place where I had the last set fitted, only to be advised they'd stopped stocking them due to availability issues. Not sure if this is just a local decision or a wider problem?
