Skoda Felicia 1.3Mpi 1999 won't start

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I am new to the forum and was wondering if any of you knowledgeable members might be able to help with my problem. My wife has been given this car by a friend who has lost patience with it after many new parts and recent reconditioned gearbox. The latest problem was that the engine kept stopping for no reason ( the last time on the M62 at 60+ mph). I have done a diagnostics test and there were 5 faults listed :-

00525-135 Oxygen sensor sporadic signal - too low

00537-141 Lambda regulation - sporadic lower stop value

17978-163 Engine start blocked by immobilizer p1570

00522-030 Engine coolant temperature sensor - open/short circuit to positive

00513-155 Engine speed sensor(G28) - sporadic implausible signal

I have replaced the coolant temperature sensor and I don't think the Lambda sensor faults would stop it starting. The immobiliser issue was caused by me (I think) useing the wrong key. I have also replaced the speed sensor( hall sensor). After doing all this I cleared all fault codes from the ECU and tried to start the car again, but no luck. On going back into the ECU diagnostics I am now only getting :-

00513-155 Engine speed sensor(G28) - sporadic implausible signal

Has anyone any idea as to what I can try next?

Many thanks in anticipation

John
