I have messaged them too now... as everyone seems very happy with service, etc.

Phone direct tomorrow! Emails are a pest for a busy company

I will call them tomorrow then :sun:

But, emails shouldn't be a pest for any company, especially if they have the sort of customer service everyone says they have. Having been in sales and Retail Management for about 10 years, sales through service is key in any media form, be it email, phone, text.

They are usually so busy emails get put on the back burner, best off calling really.

Wow, didn't realize their prices were so good. :) I'm running an Elite Remaps generic map which ain't bad, but I will definately be taking the trip to Hinckley in the near future to get a proper custom map. :)

Oh its great value if you think about it

There was 2 guys working on mine for 2 hours

The car got rr'd as standard and a health check

Then the remapping process of which in all they must have done in excess of 10 rr's to get it perfect

For £200 its amazing when you think you can pay £400 for a generic map which is loaded onto your car in 10mins with no rr

Exactly mate. I paid £210 for my generic Elite Remaps map (normal price £250 but he is friend of a friend), which I thought was ok, but compared to the R-Tech (who seem to have far more specific knowledge of the 1.8T VAG engines) prices, I'm really wishing I found out about R-Tech beforehand and gone there! I got no RR. My car had coil pack problems, and my remapper did pick up some replacement coils for me (paid for by me of course), but they turned out to be the worst of the worst 'patterned' parts and failed after 3 days. I then had a MAF failure (now resolved) so all things considered my remap experience was not great! ..... but none of it was really down to the remapper.

Just like the idea of going somewhere like R-Tech and dealing with people with really great knowledge of this engine.

Sounds very tempting. How do I need to prep my car before a re map ie performance exhaust.......?

It all depends what you want from it?

If you want to keep the car standard but remapped then just make sure its running good oil, spark plugs, and on 98ron fuel
