help ive just bought a x reg fabia 1.4 privately and the air bag warning on the dash board has lite up. All ive done is washed the engine bay down

May be a problem with the wiring loom? Is it still on after the car has dried? Personally, anything to do with air bags, seatbelts, etc I'd get checked out at your local dealer - they should be able to plug in their diag equipment and let you know why the ECU thinks there's a fault..... :D

Wash or steam clean? And did you wrap all the electrics to make sure they didn't get wet?

I had something similar recently and it just turned out to be a fluctuation in the voltage that caused a fault to register, the code was checked and i was advised it wasnt dangerous, the light was reset and i toddled off quite happily
