Turbo leak & PAS problem

Featured Replies

Ok so I put in a new FMIC & custom pipe work. All seem well an till I push the turbo harder, then there is a screeching sound that I can only assume is a leak.

How can I find where the leak is coming from? I have tried to spool up the turbo while the car is static and then listen for where the leak is but the screeching only happens while pushing the turbo driving.

I have check all pipe work, all seems to have nice & tight fittings.

The other problem I have is the PAS. Its intermittent but mostly not working. When it is working & I drive over a bump or pot hole the steering becomes heavy again & the PAS warning light comes on

Thanks for any advice.

Screeching? Leaks normally sound more like a hissing.. Does it sound police car siren ish? If so, be afraid.

There was no problem before I put on the new pipe work & it sounds like air being squeezed out a very tight spot. Best way I can describe it is sounding like screeching warn down pads on double decker bus breaks but not as loud.

Hmmm.. Odd one. Sorry I can't offer any more assistance :(

Many metal pipes. Its not the sound of them filling with air??? Just a thought. Did you do an egr delete at the same time. Could be from the egr manifold port? Just a thought. I think the drive shaft can make a certain noise aswell?

All food for thought.

Still has egr on, there is no metal pipes, they all silicone. The only part that I am not happy about is the inlet turbo pipe. Its lose a little but thats just the way them silly fittings always seem to be on them connectors. Think I will just stick my brother on the engine & drive to around 40mph boosting so he can hear the leak. :
