It's in Port!!

Featured Replies

I spoke to my dealer today, my new Octavia arrived in the UK yesterday. Not long to go now (I hope this will be the last time I write this!). Can't wait

I wish mine was in port!!! Has it told you how long before you get it, or he gets it?

From Port to dealer for its PDI then to me took 8 days.

Try not to think about it.

What moddel are you getting ?

He should have it by the weekend with the car ready to collect from mid next week. I've pencilled in Fri 22nd. When is/was your build week lozparry?

edit:

I'm getting a 105PS Elegance

I have the 105 Elegance too, I am really, REALLY happy with it. The light assist isnt working properly, but hopefully that will be sorted next week.

I ordered about 20 Jan, got told build week 8-10 + 4 for delivery, that means I should have had it a couple of weeks ago but still no build date!

Mine was delayed by about 4 weeks due to a fire at the factory.

clays, hope the light assistant is sorted out for you soon. lozparry, I think you should request a more detailed update from your dealer. Mine was initially scheduled for build week 9, then was put back to week 12 and finally 13 where it finally stayed! It left the factory on Thu March 31st.

The car's build week is set in stone two weeks before build commences and after this point no options can be added/removed.

I have been having fun with the light assist, the dealer let me play with my light settings on their VAG - COM equipment, while they were on the phone to Skoda Technical.

A specialist is coming to look at it next Tuesday.

Soooo, if you have the light assist option, dont worry, its the first time the dealer has seen the problem. Typical.

cheers, I do pop in now and again and get the bad news, heard nothing yet, but you are top of the list.

clayts, no light assistant for me! I ordered the Audience stereo, MaxiDOT and Multi-Function steering wheel.

lozparry, sounds nonsensical to me, they should have an up to date build week estimate each time they log into the factory order system!

I have the Maxi-Dot and multifunction stearing wheel, the Maxi-Dot is well worth it, I am really glad i ordered it, looks really good between the dials on the dash, and very useful.

Octy-Kut, thanks for making me phone and ask today, a bit of a result, build this week and told end of month to 3 weeks for delivery. My salesman was off today spoke to the other one, so a bit miffed that I hadn't been contacted cos he would have known as this one told me he'd seen the info the other day. So, here's counting. I don't know whether I'd prefer to be told the day it would be ready for collection. Well, give's me time to tart up the old octy and try and sell it. Any takers!

Pleased you now know what's going on lozparry. tbh, most companies don't bother phoning you. I only knew so much because I contacted the sales manager very regularly as soon as I realised I could have direct access to him :)

p.s. The dealer can't give you a day for collection until the car reaches port. It takes around a week on the boat after dispatch from the factory and a further 7-10 days once it reaches Britain.
