Audio Code locked

Featured Replies

Hi

My car audio code is locked as I had to jump start my car, I had taken the car to the Skoda Service who could not diagnose the Car audio and found a fault with the Electrical wiring. The surprising thing is that the car audio was working fine before jump start and all of a sudden the Skoda service is not able to find a Code and advised they will have to further diagnose this and i will have to pay extra for Labour. is there any way to fix this on my own?

I get the Safe mode (apparently I had pressed the 1/2/3/4 key too many times without realising I would need a code to fix this)

Will buying a new car Stereo fix the above . Not sure how to go about fixing this :(

Thanks

Hello. I now wish I had a good voice so i could sing in the car :)

Welcome aboard!

Had the same problem myself. Do you know what model HU you have?

Suprised the Skoda dealer couldn't read the code out of the stereo, it's a very common issue apparently. I was lucky as I found my code written down on a scrap of paper in amonst the history/documents. Have a look through yours and it might turn up (could be on a credit card sized bit of card).

There are a few threads here about this if you do a search or type 'Skoda stereo safe mode' into Google.

With mine (Symphony Radio/Cassette & CD Changer) I left the radio on for about an hour and then tried entering the code.

Input the code by pressing buttons 1 to 4 (i.e if the first digit is 6, press button 1 six times, if 2nd digit is 2, press button 2 twice etc.)

When code is in, press up on the right hand button then press and hold right (i.e. next track control) until the unit beeps.

Hope that helps and makes sense! Good luck.

Thanks for the information provided, i have looked into all my papers and unfortunately I could not be as lucky as you were.

Its only a code and so much trouble to actually get one :)

Thanks once again
