Is it possible to run some sort of Palm and VAG-COM full time pluged into OBD.

If so what sort of equipement would I need.

 Nice one

I have some Ipaq (Pocket PC) stuff. Digimoto which I bought but you could try http://www.geocities.com/a_ser_files/

Although these may only work with ELM based interfaces.

The cable you need is a PDA to serial, it's basicly a SYNC cable. Got mine off Ebay.

I'm pretty sure I've seen a Palm OS version somewhere too.

Des,

I was looking at GPS loggers / PDA the other day with a similar thing in mind.

Just need to get all the right cables for all the right toys ;)

Ideally would like to run VAG-COM through Pioneer X1 touch screen but a Palm would do. Can you actually connect onto the back of a Palm to OBD.
