DMF

Hi Folks, this is my first post so I hope I make sense, I have a 54 plate mk2 Octavia 1.9 tdi pd and fear I have a failing DMF. During the cold weather a few weeks ago when I depressed the clutch pedal I got a judder as the first pressure was put on the clutch, it was a bit like the anti-lock sensation when you brake hard on a slippery surface.Last night as I dropped my daughter off at work the engine was was in neutral and there was an almighty rattle which stopped as soon as I depressed the clutch pedal.I have no faith in my local Skoda dealer after a bad situation with them last year so I wont go there. We are due to go to the lakes in a couple of weeks and I am unsure if its wise to chance it, this morning it ran OK the clutch still operates well with no judder or slipping...any advice will be welcome, car has done 57,680 miles...thanks.

welcome to briskoda

Think I have gone the wrong way round with my intro.....it's my age I guess, my name is Brian and I purchased my Octavia in late 2005 with 14,000 miles on the clock.

I am 69 and finding it harder to do jobs that were easy in my younger days, my old RS 2000 escorts were so uncomplicated compared to the hi tech machines these days, it seems this is one of the only sites where you can get straight forward advice...looking forward to posting in the future.

Hi and welcome aboard.
