OBD2 Connector Pin layout?

Featured Replies

I don`t suppose someone has the pin layout details for the OBD2 connector on a 2002 Skoda Octavia VRS MK1? I have the bluetooth adapter for the Torque android software and I`m planning on installing a small switch on the dash through the + pin on the connector so that I can switch it off and on, so I don`t have to keep messing around disconnecting it from the socket. As far as I`m aware the socket stays permanently live as soon as a connector is plugged in?

Thanks!

Samuel

I leave mine plugged in, has been there for months with no issues. And sometimes the car is left for 6-7 days between drives.

The power draw on the odbc is quite low so leaving it plugged in should not cause a problem

Just measure the current draw with it plugged in, you might be making loads of work for yourself for no reason m8

Ahhh ok! Well if thats the case I won`t bother with the wiring then, not much point.

Cheers all!!

Ok I`ve plugged the obd2 bluetooth adapter in and im impressed with it. Really hand piece of kit. I have noticed there is a delay though but I'm guessing this is the nature of bluetooth and the speed OBD2 can give out the data?? Would be nice to have almost real time response, especially with the gauges on torque. I selected the option in torque to try and speed up the data response time but it just stopped working when i did that..

This is the one I have http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Vgate-ELM327-Bluetooth-OBD-2-Mini-Adapter-Fit-Andriod-Torque-backwards-/180866879080?pt=UK_Diagnostic_Tools_Equipment&hash=item2a1c818e68

You can actually get one that runs at a higher speed as the Torque App has a 'faster communications feature' bult in. Makes it near enough real time.

I got this one and its been great:

Yeh I tried turning the faster communications option on mine but the gauges stopped working when i did that, like it wasn`t communicating to the bluetooth adapter.

It will do if the adapter doesn't support it. :)
