Miltek/Supersprint Downpipe

Featured Replies

Been looking at getting either the Miltek or Supersprint downpipe but have a few questions I wondered if you guys could help me with.

For the Supersprint option it says "You will need to extend the oxygen sensor cable", how easy do you reckon this will this be to do?

Will I need to go stage 2 straight away because the EML will be flashing at me? Do I need to buy the entire system or will the downpipe be enough? If I don't get the entire system will the downpipe fit into the OEM system?

The downpipe will fit onto your stock cat back provided you purchase a reducer you just need to know both diameters. My last reducer was £15 from ebay. The likes of Miltek will tell yoy that for stage 2 you need the FULL system but thats utter b£$%cks and they are just trying to take more money from you. Loads of us have done it with the stage 2 and the downpipe/stock cat back setup. A few of us even showed them dyno graphs showing the cat back made no extra bhp, to which they said it made the car rev better lol and thats why we should do it

The EML is telling you is you have an inefficient flow over the catalytic convertor because its flowing so much more than stock. This means the car will be trying to adapt the AGFR etc to regulate it. NOt sure if its good or bad run a DP without a stage 2 map, i personally wouldnt do it, but that just my preference.

I like the supersprint exhaust design. But £1134 Excl tax(£1360) just for a downpipe!!!!!! Thats insane. A full TBE miltek will cost you less than that including VAT. Try the likes of PIpewerx as well. I had a pipewerx on my last car and it was beautiful bit of work.

Jetex do a down pipe aswell if i mind correctly and itl be a fair bit cheaper :D

Cheers Sy, the Superspint one is £453 for a decat one, would this be no good?

Got the link for the Jetex one Stu?

You will definitely need a remap with a decat. BUT bear in mind that a normal 200cell downpipe is about £500 so probably worth saving for the cat version.Decat downpipes are normally about £250-300

Cheers Sy & Stu, I have emailed Revo and Jetex about downpipe pricing

Remember that you will have no warranty on the milltek dp if its mated to a standard cat back.

You should get mapped as soon as possible. The engine will over fuel and destroy the cat if you have the cat version.

Was it you i see today on the back roads towards St Albany's??
