Rather than pay £100+ for the Forge one I wondered whether this would be just as good or an improvement over the stock BOV. I'm only looking to go stage 1 in terms of remap. Anyone bought one of these?? It almost looks like a copy of the Forge 008??

it does look like a forge 007p copy. I got my forge for £80. best thing with the forge ones is that you can service them and change the spring rates when needed

I considered a compbrake dv, but for an extra £15-20 i went with the quality of forge.... Also read a horror story on here i think that a compbrake failed and ended the life of the turbo stuff that for a £20 saving

Looks exactly the same as the Forge but as said the Forge is adjustable and serviceable. You'd need to know if this ebay valve is going to be adjustable to work ok on a remapped car running 14+ psi not just a standard car on 10psi.

The guy says the spring can be changed and he can offer it to me with a stiffer spring which allows upto 30psi of boost. They are manufactured by a company called logpro?? Chinese I think. I'm guessing the spring it comes with probably takes 15PSI? Am I correct in thinking that its important which spring I use, for example if I put the stiffer spring in without the remap it would **** the turbo up??

If you put the stiffer spring in without a remap you risk compressor stall which would shorten the life of the turbo, likewise if you did it the other way round and put the softer spring in with a remap you'd get the valve opening at part-boost.

ok he offers 3 springs - 10-15psi, 15-20psi and 20-30psi. Which one do i get now to run standard? I'm not getting remap for months yet. I was just looking at replacing BOV because I`ve heard the stock ones aren`t very good!

If you get remapped drop me a pm as i have a yellow forge spring available (used on remapped 1.8t's) assuming it fits your dv, i think it will

I've got a compbrake one for over 2 years now without any problems. Just aswell made as the forge one
