What ya think?

Featured Replies

Just have a look on eBay and was looking at Audi TT bonnet hinges, do you think that it would be possible to fit them to the Octavia? Problem is our lass's TT has gone now and wish I'd a thought about it before it went. I'm just putting out there to see people reaction and if anyone done it?

Cheers

Do you mean the hinges themselves or hydraulic struts?

A lot of people have fitted hydraulic struts, either Venom Motorsport, Milotec or Foliatec I think do them. I had Kufatec ones on my old car, not that easy to fit but sprung the bonnet open a treat.

spring loaded bonnets are fine, until you need to lift your car up, and then find space above is limited.....

I once (stupidly), opened my bonnet, and then jacked up the front of the car (to do a cambelt change), and the top of the bonnet hit a pair of canoes in the garage roof, but I didn't realise and kept on jacking - ended up bending my bonnet support arm :wall:

oh that thers a sickener mbames....

I ment the full hinge as it has the strut built into them, they look quite neat and cheap at £30 a pair compared to just the struts.

Give them a whirl, if they fit thats a bargain way of doing it (the struts aren't a great fit to be honest)

That's what I thought about the struts, think I might have too. If I get some I'll let you all know the outcome on this predicament.
