You are a winner. :D

Also known by the 3 letter code EHA - which is how it is described on the Vehicle Data sticker and by ETKA.

Do I pass "go" and collect

I'll confirm it on Wednesday for you when mine is fitted :(

What's up Q - have you broked it?

That seems to be the case. Started on Friday morning when I came thundering down a long left hander. Floored it in 3rd and nothing... revs went happily up, but speed didn't. Phil had a look on Saturday and he told me the bad news. Booked in at the mastertech big K for a new one.

Don't get all big headed on us now. ;)

Anyway what are you up to. :)

Kind of got my eye on some engine related stuff. Already fitted a clutch from IP, but will my standard gearbox break if say power output were increased somewhat from my current 240 ish bhp? I see that max recommended torque is somewhere past 270 ftlb (from real skoda post on "what mods") and I'm not far off that already. Can you enlighten me oh wise one?

Pauls blew when he ran slicks...

I reckon I'm ok for now, as far as a destruction moment goes because I only really have just over 200bhp. But I want to know so Im prepared. The changes are a little notchy of late and it may or may not be related to my clutch...but then plans are a foot it seems in more than one camp.

My change is still nice and slick and has done 43K, about 20K of which have been done when the car was first remapped with a bigger turbo, so I hope it's still got decent life in it yet, I rarely thorough gun it from stand still, but 2nd and 3rd often get full wellie (just to feel the extra shove the car gives when the revometer passes 4K :D )

Colin, AFAIK yours is as fcked as mine :D. I thought about upgrading though, but speaking to Elton at Jabbasport about a G60 clutch upgrade I reckon that with my mods the OEM is still strong enough to cope.

But the oem one is more than the G60 no?

I'm definitly changing my clutch, but musing over the gearbox...new clutch = no loss of power = ???

How much power do you want to run, that's the first question. Gearbox, diff, Drive shaft couplings and clutch are all a proplem. You may need the gearbox conversion i'm getting if you want to run a lot more.

The rods and pistons are good for around 300bhp but depends who maps it.

Quoting lets say about 300 and anything else above that is a bonus, is that what you would consider "a lot more" over what its already running at with respect to the above aspects of transmission?

On the limit I would say depends on your driving style. A lot more is 350 to 400.

I can quote you on that if I see bits of car bouncing down the road behind me in the rearview mirror?
