Featured Replies

now they have stared appearing used im starting to think about swapping me 2.0T VRS octavia into a 200ps superb elegance, would this be a good swap

fancy a change as had 2 VRS's in a row, fancy a bit of comfort and some nice spec but still fancy a bit of speed , would this be best swap

From a comfort and specification POV then the Superb is a good car - can't comment on the 2.0 TFSI engine. What budget are you looking at?

There are 4x 2.0 TFSI Superbs on Skoda UK stock list - ranging from about £18k upto £27k, the later being white with black alloys.

I had an Octavia before, the Superb is much better and handles as well if not better than the Octavia, the engine is the same and so is not much slower than a VRS.

Next year I will be getting the 2.0 TFSi (and will remap to 250BHP) as the weight is lower than the V6 and not loaded down with the 4X4 the performance won't be far of the V6 and not paying the high road tax.

Why not buy new as it is VAT free at the moment so you will save 20%? I nearly bought one and specced up would have cost £23K!

My 1.8 TSi has been remapped and is 210BHP with 300nm so that could be another option for you, the only thing I don't like on the 2.0 TFSi is the 6 speed DSG as mine has the 7 speed DSG.

I've done this and after two months and 2,500 miles in the Superb 2.0TSI Elegance I'm very happy with my decision.

I loved my Octavia vRS but after getting on for five years I decided I was ready for a change and couldn't get excited about a like for like replacement.

With the VAT free deal and a bit of haggling my new Superb with options was less than £23k and an Octavia specced to the same level (leather, Columbus, DSG etc) would cost pretty much the same.

The Superb felt very big to start with and after 27 years with a manual gearbox DSG has taken a bit of getting used to, but it is starting to feel smaller on the outside and with the DSG in manual I'm starting to appreciate the handling as well as the comfort.

I've driven from Norwich to Manchester and back this week in pretty poor conditions and it was so much better than it would have been in the Octavia, but still with sufficient performance to take small gaps on the motorway.

My Octavia was remapped and so far I'm not really missing the extra power compared with a standard 2.0TSI - but I doubt I'll be able to resist a remap at some point. I considered the V6 but came to the same conclusion as BurialConstant.

My advice would be go for it!

I nearly bought one and specced up would have cost £23K!

Go on - you know you want to
