People need to come up with a team (or work alongside others who haven't got a team yet to form one!)

My standpoint on the matter is this: It is _highly_ preferable to be using a Skoda of some description for the event - and obviously being a part of Briskoda is a likely part of that (else how would

I still need to find a team mate for this, hopefully I'll find someone willing soon :)

This sounds great.. i really hope i can take part in this... will get working on a team

Would love to go! Count me in too

My standpoint on the matter is this:

It is _highly_ preferable to be using a Skoda of some description for the event - and obviously being a part of Briskoda is a likely part of that (else how would you know the event exists?)

So as you are a member of Briskoda and obviously drive said Skoda and will be entering the event in your car... You are more than eligable to become your teams 'captain' - as for people taking part within your team, that is down to your discretion and don't necessarily have to be Briskoda members, but it would be advisable. Obviously that also makes you responsible for your teams conduct too.

I don't have too much of a problem with driving non-skodas, but the number of non-skoda entries i'd ideally like to be kept to a minimum I think. And I think as a pre-requisite of entry they'll have to become members of the forum, because how else will we be able to update people with information? ;)

Make sense?

by the way, team sharkriders "mad hatters" will be an alice in wonderland theme :)

If you've got details of team names/themes let me know!

Also...

If you are considering entering and haven't got team mates set... Maybe consider starting thinking about it ;)

Hey Chaps!!

Don't worry, i've not died or forgotten about any of ye lovely peoples!

I've been working super hard since I started my new job and definitely reaping the rewards xD.

My team are still struggling with how best to dress ourselves for this adventure but, i've put in a loooooooooooot of notice with work to get it all sorted and booked off in plenty of time =D.

My boss was really interested in it and he's currently rocking an Mk.4 Seat Ibiza Cupra, we have this little habit of finishing work at 2am then being a tad competitive on the roads on our drives home.

I replaced my MAF finally and holy donkey balls has it made a hell of a difference, i've been putting up a pretty good fight against him since I sorted it.

Also, i've decided that i'm gonna keep hold of Babydoll forever, save up for an Mk.3 Furby vRS and then turn my lady into some manner of amateur rally car or summink similar.

HAPPY DAYS!!!

Ok.

Considering the sheer scale of this and other issues... (read as real-life getting in the way)

...This might have to be scaled down a little bit.

Reasons being:

  1. It will require less effort to organise
  2. It will allow for more people to join in as the mileage won't be as high
  3. It's the first time this has been done - better to start small and be a success than start large and fail miserably

So. A revised route with stop-offs is being devised and the thread will be updated ASAP.

Everything else is pretty much planned out barring the final route and the stop-overs - but it's in progress and will be with you all shortly :D

  • Author

Ok. The new route is as follows:

http://goo.gl/Ay5ld

Note that the start/end address will either be on one of the coasts, or somewhere central.

I was aiming to make this a 500 mile route whilst including plenty of decent driving roads. 509 miles including managing to do both coasts isn't too bad for a circular route.

Any suggestions? Comments?

What do I win for doing it on one tank of diesel on the hybrid vRS? :p

  • Author

You never know - there might be a 'hypermiler' challenge ;)

  • Author

So. I need to know whether people are happy with the route so I can plan stop-overs...

Looks good for me

I would love it if you could start and finish in he lakes.... cause thats where I live ;)

No doubt like me in Sheffield ;)

I'd be interested in this, depending when. :)

we are trying to arrange dates for hols next year ect ect , ash needs to put them in before the end of Jan, and I need to know asap....

so do we have any dates?

Thanks, chris.

Just read through this thread and I could be interested if dates permit.

Is there a min/max number of people who can enter?

I meant per team... how many people can you have in a team?

Just added the dates for the Cumbrian Run 2013 onto the community calendar. If that aids a decision.
