Recommended Posts

Does anyone know what this guy is like for good maps? Ive seen some OK reviews on him and he does live maps on stage stage 1s o_0. No generic. He is based in Rochdale, Manchester

Wayne at chip wizards is very well known in the French car tuning scene . He is regarded as one of the best and he can work wonders with ecu's I would recommend you to give him ago

I'd trust Awesome - a well respected VAG specialist - to remap my VAG car more than some random French-car tuning bloke!

No idea, but you've got a PD130, which is probably the most mapped car ever! £150 for a map for those at Awesome!

I need a stage 2 as I have a pd150 hybrid + other mods.

I have nothing against awesome and have used there shop before for parts but as for tuning my car with a new map, well I would rather go some place that has mostly has very good reviews & no negative ones. I can only go off what reviews I read on the web and one needs to check plenty off sites as many forums are biased to there sponsors ( I'm not saying that is what your doing by the way )

No tuner will have 100% positive reviews. All the negative reviews I've ever read of Awesome have been from idiots who took crap/knackered cars there and remaps had exacerbated the problems.

I would really have no issue with them, or the APR software

Yes I agree no tuner will have %100 good reviews, to many bad reviews however will naturally will put some people off though. Might take my car to sharks or Rs tuning but I like to keep options open and this is why I was asking about Chipwizards.

Shark's had some terrible reviews recently on here, but I'd still trust them. And you can read lots of bad reviews of RS Tuning.

All I'm saying is that you've got a really good option very close to you!

I may be wrong but Wayne has mapped a heavy modified mk3 TDI. Mojogoes (tdiclub) old motor.

Yeah, think I will just have to jump in feet first. People say don't go there go here, no don't go that one, they are bad, go here instead. Its never ending lol. I spent weeks trying to get my head round where to go for the map & still no better off lol

He has some kinda back street garage with rollers. Think he has some race cars in the yard also. He always makes maps even if stage 1 map.

Got to admit I have heard nothing but praise when it comes to Shark. I dont know Ben personally but the guys I speak to that know him speak highly of him and by the sounds of it they will go out of their way to help you even if you dont end up getting a map off them.

Still not spotted u about in rochdale yet bb lol

Ive not come across chipwizard before is he gd prices ??

Bb , do u get ur exhausts done at greenwoods? I take my cars to them. Top notch

I actually took my exhaust to greenwoods a few weeks back for a repair. They can do custom exhausts for just about anything that needs an exhaust lol really good guys, my dad the fire extinguishers there.

Im not entirely sure on chipwizards prices but everyone who speaks of him speaks very highly of him. If you come off the M62 at J21 milnrow/shaw & head towards the dale via milnrow hes signposted on street lamps ;)

May be so, but they'd be there first company I'd call..............every time

I feel you've misquoted me on that, without the "...but I'd still trust them", it looks like I'm being negative towards them.

He done a awesome job on my saxo VTR many moons ago. I started with a dastek and it was mapped to 127bhp and one day i popped to place in Daventry for a service, I cant remember the name and he was there and I got taliking to him about my car and the dastek and her said he could do better and offered to do it saying if he couldnt get a better result I wouldnt have to pay I thought whats the worse, I might go home with the same power and have a dastek to flog on ebay. he took the dastek off spent hours tidying up the wiring loom that had been butchered and after 3 ish hours he got 139bhp and it drove so much better, and didnt even end up charging me.... he just said to mention it on saxo sports club.
