To write off or not.

Well finally the car was fixed and NOT written off.

The local boyshop did a fine job with a minimal amount of filler required..

Paint match is virtually perfect which I found quite staggering for a 10 year old car.

All rounded off with a good bath and polish, oh, and a new set of 2nd hand VTR wheels too to fill those arches out.

Looks really good now, so I have a happy daughter again.

Miss Ree had the use of a fairly new hired Fiat Panda btw, whilst hers was being repaired, and she didn't like it..

So much opinion from someone with virtually no experience. Amazing.

I would agree with this, as it is a cracking car and would be a shame to see it written off

I'll see if I can get some piccies done and send them to you.

As you said, and ignoring the negative comments, it's a cracking little car and a damned sight safer than the wreck I drove as my first motor back in the late 60's.

The Saxo has got SEAT BELTS for instance!!

Good to hear the Saxo was fixed and not being written off is a bonus.

Now tell us about your AX GT DIESEL! Not heard of a proper diesel GT conversion, most seem to go the VTS route. 120hp in something weighing around 700-750kg moves very quickly.

My own AX GT was the most fun I've had in a car. Thrills and engagement at speeds where you didn't have to be an F1 driver to pull it back if things went wrong. Shame someone in a BMW didn't look properly before pulling out of a garage forecourt. Incidentally, this is why I now have a Fabia VRS. Though there were no injuries, I'd done small, light and French and decided on brick built out house instead! :)
