Double din stereo - with bluetooth and satnav in VRS

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I've had a look on the Forums but can't see anything hugely recent for the fabia mk1 vrs, having recently fitted a single DIN I know there's really not much space behind - is there only specific double DINs that will fit in the MK1 Fabia?

Has anyone got recommendations for a double din head unit with bluetooth and satnav? I was looking at this Zenec but I've never heard of the brand before, but it looks to have plenty of potential for playing with (rear camera, ipod cable in glovebox etc)

I did like the look of the "columbus" as I really like the look of the voice control but it seems like it wont work at all in the MK1 Fabia.

I'm hoping not to spend much more than £500.

Cheers

Iain

I'm hoping to land a 61 plate Octy vrs by the end of the week. I'm likely to get the Pioneer avic f9310bt to replace the Bolero. Looks awesome. Fully integrates with the Skoda systems.

Only trouble is it's £800.

Ouch. :D

I've got the Parrot RKI8400 in the car at the moment so hoping to sell that to raise a bit towards the unit, not sure I can stretch that far though (more to the point whether the missus would ok it).

Looks nice though

By the end of things it's looking like I'll end up with more add on wires and things attached to the car than ever before.

Just ordered a dash cam so will have to workout how to hardwire that into the car so it comes on and off with the key as I think the fag lighters are on all the time - I'm wondering if there's any free power I can run through the fuse box. Add to that the mic for a headunit plus a reversing camera it's going to be a wire fest!

The other one I've come across is =1562&no_cache=1&L=1]Blaupunkt New York 800 World. The =1563&no_cache=1&L=1]Europe model (the one I think I need) is £700 though however the World model is £350. I've emailed to see what the difference is and whether I can get away with the World one.

The Kenwood DNX units fit fine. I've got the 7240BT in mine. You should be able to pick one up for less than £500 used.

I highly recommend getting the JVC AVX840, its the largest detachable face full screen on the market (7"). Excellent head unit, rrp is £550 but i picked mine up 2nd hand a few months old for £330. It has everything you need, bluetooth, DVD/CD playback all formats, USB and iPod connectivity, iPhone integration (phonebook, missed, last dialled etc) on the head unit, can run iPhone apps full screen such as netflix and satnav. Will post a pic up later..
