Help needed.. CD stuck in my Bolero

Featured Replies

Hi

I hope someone can help me.

My Bolero head unit is displaying a CD error. this message has appeared since one of my kids inserted a new CD a few weeks back. When I asked what had happened, he told me that he thought the CD was 'a bit strange' as it was clear. I think that his CD was one of clear packing disks that sometimes come with RW CD stacks.

The unit cannot seem to eject the disk, I think because the laser head gets no reflection as there is no coating and there for thinks there is no disk in that slot.

Is there a way to eject all of the CD's or some other way to clear this disk from the system?

Thanks

an old trick I used on the girlfriends front loading 6CD stereo in her Golf 5 when a CD was stuck was to insert two credit cards and try to 'capture' the CD between them as it was trying to eject them (you can hear it 'trying') after a few minutes of trying it worked and save her the € 1000 bill for a replacement. Worth a try maybe?

Thanks for the reply, I will try this one maybe it works. I will let you know.....

When I got my Scout the cd player in the Stream hu wouldn't eject but would play a cd that the previous owner had put in.

When I replaced it with a Columbus I stripped the stream down to see what the score was and someone had obviously forced a second disc in on top of one already inserted.

Was easy to strip down the stream and retrieve the discs, but might be a bit more difficult to strip a bolero.

Thank you for this post! Son just double loaded cd with exact same result. Eject mechanism labouring, me completely stumped. Thankfully leepatrick's solution worked (almost) first time. Wonderful.

Cynddan you need to mark Lee's post as solved just in case anyone else has the issue in the future as a search will show that your problem was solved
