VRS TSI Injectors

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Looking at a 2008 2.0 TDI 170 VRS estate. 80,000 on the clock. Full service history etc. Are the fuel injectors/oil pump drive an issue on these? Car has full history.

Many thanks,

Rob

Injectors should be changed under recall, oil pump drive not an issue on Octy, only mark1 superb.

Your post title states TSI but assume you mean TDI?

If it's a 2008 it's probably the PD170 in which case I believe injectors can be an issue and many have had them replaced under warranty.

Yeah sorry guy's, S is beside the D on the keyboard..! Must stop rushing.

So from what you say, they can be an issue, but should have been done under a recall. How would I know they have been done, apart from looking at the history? Jonno, yes it is a PD 170. I haven't actually seen the car in the flesh yet but it looks clean. If I did need to replace the injectors myself (for whatever reason) how much pain am I looking at?...

Thanks guys,

Rob

If they've been done there will be a recall sticker under the carpet in the boot, if not don't worry just contact your local dealer to arrange under warranty.

I believe they are quite costly if you were to have them changed yourself.
