Air Filter changing

Featured Replies

Hi I've looked at the vaious links, but how the hell do you get the engine cover off!

I've pulled and tugged the cover but dont want to break the cover.

Help!

From another thread:

To remove TFSi covers the correct method is stand at the front of the car, looking at the engine start from the top right (nearest passenger) and work anti-clockwise so:

Top Right

Top Left (remember to disconnect MAF and clips to turbo)

Bottom Left

Bottom Right

A drop of oil on each bung afterwards will aid removal in future.

I removed mine a couple of weeks ago to check the air filter,i did the same as the post above, you do have to give it a good pull to remove it,i sprayed a bit of WD40 onto the retaining lugs before i refitted the cover. Stupid design to put the air filter inside the engine cover like that.
