thats the thing there not all the same!!!! the bam has stronger internals and a different compression ratio !!!

best part of an S3

Not what i have read, on internals anyways.... But a lot of stuff on the intereweb is hear say, it definately is in my case, i read on ed38 they were all the same (engine block wise) the 210/225 varients

06a block is the same in all the 1.8t but the internals used are different from compression rations to wrist pin size to forged mahle pistons etc etc

I thought that all K04 turbo'd S3 and LCR's that had either 210 or 225 version had stromger internals.

Oh well could be wrong..

Does s3 wishbones got directly onto the Octavia vrs 1u ?? Mine have packed in and need replacing.

Looking at getting the upper strut brace too.

Thanks

i was going to use the bam bottom end and local vag tuner modifier runnibg a couple of 400bhp weapons told me they were same other than wrist pins on bam  :nerd:

The difference between the AUQ and BAM engine is the rods. BAM/AMK engines have 20mm wrist pin rods, the AUQ have 19mm. Both engines have Mahle forged pistons. The 150 1.8T engines only have cast pistons.

Fairly sure the recommended max limit for AUQ with standard internals is 300bhp/300lbs/ft of torque, around that figure or higher dramatically increases your chances of snapping a rod, which is why people alk about ~270bhp as the limit for these engines, as they're being safe. BAM internals should be fine up to or around 340, as the rods are stronger, but again thats not a figure you should really be hitting on standard internals.
