VRS Heated Seats?

Featured Replies

Still haven't picked up my "new to me" Octy yet! But have recently noticed a couple with heated front seats...

Was this a popular option? Also, where is the heated seat button on the dash?

Finally, from pictures, how can you tell if a car has Xenon's or not?

Cheers :)

preface lift they are like this:

This is mine:

You can see the heated seat button (3 levels of heat) in the middle of the temp dials.

They are however pointless on the cloth seats on the VRS as the honeycomb effect of the fabric means that even on level 3 you can barely feel the heat. The 5 level ones in my leather seated Bora are awesome and a great if you have a bad back.

As before, headlight washers if there are Xenon's.

Cheers for the info gentleman!

I went for the heated option in my new Octy last year. I was going for the leather option and the salesman "kind of" convinced me that the leather can be cold in the winter.

Actually pleased I went for them. They really do get nice and warm on those cold mornings and when I consider the other options I was buying they certainly weren't the most expensive.

What you getting?

Can also be very very hot in the summer when you have shorts on too! Also think the cloth/alcantara looks better :D. Do your seats get really warm? I am convinced it is either the weave of the fabric preventing the heat or they are just faulty. Mine can barely be felt through jeans and t-shirt...I have them on permanently....perhaps i have been spoilt by the Bora ones. I wish they could be cranked up in VCDS to Bora levels!

I was worried after ordering mine as a few people had said that they don't get very warm. Maybe mine go against the trend, but they do get warm under jeans/work shirt.

I'll get in the car and crank it up to 3 and they are warm within a few minutes. For the actual drive into work I'll usually drop them to "2" because 3 really is a little too warm.

As I said I don't know if this goes against the grain, but I've been well chuffed with them.

As for looks. I had cloth/alcantara in my old 54 plate vRS. Leather option was always going to be one I took with the new car along with Xenon's. I like the full black look of the seats.

Fully aware it isn't 100% leather, but they clean up so well...slightest spill and they are as good as new after a couple of minutes of cleaning.

Agree the vrs heaters don't seem to warm up as quick or get as hot as the ones' I had in my golf. Still an option worth having though IMO. Next car will also have them.

I too have cloth/alacantra and agree with the above. Get fairly warm within minutes and have to turn down to 2 or 1 as 3 is a little too much on a lengthy drive.

hmmm, i might get them to look at mine again then when it goes in the get the rear seat bolster replaced. I can have mine on in the summer on 3 and can just about feel it.
