Felicia Popular 1.3l 2000(Xreg) Suspension

Featured Replies

Hi again!

Right, i want to change, stiffen and possibly lower the suspension on my Felicia(there is a LOT of body roll). All 4 corners were an advisory on the last MOT for corrosion.

I have a mate that works for Skoda in Scotland, who travels down to my area every couple of months. So i can get cheaper genuine parts, and Ive someone that can help me out.

It looks like genuine parts are the cheapest, but I wondered if there were any other parts that would fit the Felicia. I see golf and polo parts can fit in some places.

So basically i guess im asking, what other shocks and spring would fit on my felly, to lower and stiffen the suspension (with limited modifications)

Try to keep it simple please. I'm not quite and 'technically car' minded as you guys!

Thanks in advanced.

Liam

Body roll is fixed properly by fitting/uprating an anti-roll bar, not by changing the spring rate.

I believe golf rears (not sure which year) will fit, although the lengths will need correctly calculating.

Also, search for Focus struts - IIRC they will fit with suitable modification to the top mounts.

As far as getting a straight bolt-on lowering setup designed/sprung/valved for a Felicia, I think you'll find it difficult in the UK - probably looking at a size in CZ would be more like it. HP did kits, not sure if they still do; they were the ones mostly used by the challenge Felicias (the only other common fitment I've seen are Proflex and they are like hen's teeth, expensive and not really suited for 'fit and forget' on a road car), so that might be a start.

golf mk1,mk2 and mk3 rear coilovers fit, though the mk1 overall length is shorter than the felicia and mk2and3 overall length is longer than standard felicia.

mk1 ford focus coilovers fit the front.
