Does the fabia's roof have any sound proofing?

Featured Replies

Looking to put some dynamat on the fabia's roof but not sure if its going to be worth it.

Is there much or any proofing/deadening already there?

Im looking to do the roof and the boot and possibly the footwells.

Thanks

No reason to sound proof the roof mate. It wouldnt make any difference, besides the roof linning is pretty thick which will stop any tinny noises.

Yep there is sound proofing behind the lining, just found out for myself today when fitting led's in the back. No need to dynamat it.

Cool thanks.

Got a load of dynamat left and trying to think where to put it. I was going to do the doors but found there was already some foam there so only did behind the speakers. Didnt have to remove the rivets to do that which was a bonus.

There is fairly decent sound proofing in the front foot wells as well.

Will def look into that.

I know on the right hand side there isnt much there so should be fairly easy access. Cant remember whats on the left but from memory its a bit tighter.

Im guesing its easy enough to remove. Not near the car ar the min.

On the interior floors and boot i will eventually add some foam and then mass vinyl. I got a feeling the main source of road is the rock hard tyres that came with the carhowever but im hoping the dynamat will reduce vibrations in the panels that must amplify any noises.
