Dashboard dial lights dimming

Featured Replies

Hi, I've just noticed that when I go into a tunnel (Leeds inner ring road) after about 200 yds the dials dim although the MFD and Speedo/Ref pointers do not.

Anyone know why this happens as I can't see anything that refers to it in the handbook, my Yeti doesn't have auto lights.

Page 49 of the 11/2011 user manual mentions it.

There is a light level sensor in the cluster, as it gets dark then the lights in the cluster dim so as to avoid distraction at night. perfectly normal, and the Superb MK2 also does the same.

Weasley, tad bit mean but I know where you're coming from :giggle:

Thanks for the replies, my yeti is a 2010 model, can't see anything in the handbook though

I thought it was to remind you to put your lights on at night-you can only see the needles, and not your speed.

Some other vehicles do do do that and the dials are lit up and the incompetent drivers don't realise the external lights are not on......so drive at night without lights.

do do do de da da da.... :giggle:
