Another vRS lowering thread

Featured Replies

Never really been interested in lowering my car until I joined this site! Doh! I've been through the other threads an the likes of Vrs powered etc have really made me change my mind. I'm thinking about getting the Vrs eibach springs that skoda supply as 20mm looks plenty low enough in my eyes. My thinking is though... Will any of my warranty be void? How much will skoda charge to fit them? (been quoted £180 for the springs) an could I take it to a non skoda garage to fit an still retain my warranty? Any help would be great :)

Cheers for the mention!

If they are the Eibach springs approved by Skoda your warranty will not be affected. I believe you can take them to any garage to be fitted and keep your warranty. The only time Skoda may question warranty is if the garage installed them incorrectly and it affected something that needed repairing but that shouldn't happen.

I asked my local dealer about getting springs fitted, and they said to me that the warranty wouldnt be affected on the rest of the car, but the suspension would no longer have warranty, even if the springs were brought and fitted from skoda.

What a load of cobblers!

That's clever of him to tell you that the rest of the car wouldn't be affected by fitting springs, Lol.

Go see another dealer.

Rang up a few local dealers to see how much it would cost to fit. Was roughly between £160-170 which I thought was steep. Rang skoda customer services an was told suspension warranty was void if I didn't get a skoda approved garage to do it but if I did get a skoda garage to do it no warranty would be affected

Shop around for the best deal, i paid £125 for the springs and £100 fitting so dont go for the first thing that jumps up!
