Hi, i've heard only good things about this forum and as i have thought more and more about diesels, a octavia vrs (2008 shape) is what im after. My pug diesel is brilliant, but not thrilling, and my Integra just sits in my garage gathering dust, so a shake up must be done.

Integra will be up for sale soon, after a Nurburg trip and then il be in the market. just streaming through the forum for research purposes at the moment.

I have heard that the injectors was a recall for these.... any other tips or bargining points i should know?

Having had 3 pug diesels previously I can say the vag stuff is so much more refined.

No expertise on octavias, sorry, apart from that I want one!

I think the injector recall was on the pd engine models which is prior to the model you seem to he looking at. The 2008 will be fitted with a 2.0 CR engine, i havent heard of any major problems, others on here may have. It will be have a DPF on it that Id be tempted to have deleted via the ECU to eliminate that causing you issues.

Get one bought and we will have to organise a brisky meet somewhere halfway . Im reckoning a york meet would be gd

Haha. Just looking at bottom end vrs mk I's actually.

Torn between trying to p/ex the furby for a mk2 vrs or buy a second car tho.

A local ford dealer has a gorgeous 57 reg - feb08 black magic vrs with 44k on the clock for £9999, just out of my reach but tempting.

Got a wedding to pay for soon and don't relish 2xfuel, insurance, mot and tax.

Mk1 octy vrs as a second car spinna. Leaves you with the furby as the trustee whilst you mod and enjoy tinkering from time to time:)

no problems! lol! Are high miles a bad thing? do these cars take miles in there stride? would look at a remap in the future, any issues with them?
