Rattles and cures...

Featured Replies

I'm sure many posts regarding such irritating problems have been posted before, but thought it would be good to have a nice stream-lined (maybe also sticky?) thread summarising cures for various rattles in the Fabia. Soundproofing advice would also be good.

It would be nice if this works. Could maybe be editted at some stage to keep relevant?

So any experiences or guides - please post HERE!!

Wow...you have a lot of problems with your car regarding rattling...the only time i get rattles is when the bass is level is too loud and you can see and hear the side view mirrors vibrating.

Only prob I had was the cover on passenger side door next to the door handle came out once, no rattles to report as of yet, getting onto 3k on the clock :)

The only thing that rattles on mine is my sunglasses, so they seem to vary from car to car.

The only thing that used to rattle in my Fabia is the dome light (when I crancked up the bass :)) and then I took a screwdriver...things were never the same after that :D

Gearknob rattles on idle sometimes - less so as the miles pile on the car...

I have fitted a new headunit and the fascia that makes it fit rattles like menatl...any suggestions???

I can add -

7: Roof lining creak' date=' padded out by dealer

8: Steering wheel rattle, sorted by dealer

9: Seat creaking, new seat base replaced by dealer

That'll do for now.........

...and did your new seat base cure the creaking? 'Cos I had mine replaced, and it made absolutely no difference! Arrrrgh...:mad:
