Skoda engine fault

Featured Replies

Today on You and Yours there was an article concerning a major fault on the VW sourced engine 2.0 diesel fitted to Octavia cars. The fault causes the vehicle to lose power and steering which was quite exciting for the person involved as he was in the outside lane of the M4 doing 70. Fortunately, he was a first responder therefore had both blue and red flashing lights on his vehicle and he managed to get to the hard shoulder. The actual fault was not mentioned, or what was done to rectify it. What was this fault, it mentioned vehicles from 2005-2009. Is it likely to affect Octavia vehicles on 60 and 61 plates?

Cheers all

John

I think this is well documented.

Have you a link to the article?

No I don't. They did say that it has been ongoing for about 5 years. I think the main thrust of the piece was having a go at VOSA for doing as much they should to get a general recall sorted.

Cheers
