Wing mirror back plates, and front splitter?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I just purchased a 56 plate Fabia vRS, and I am eyeing up a few light modifications, namely the front grille, the back plates on the wing mirrors, and I like the black splitter that can be found on newer/sportier models. Here is a thread which has the splitter I am looking for http://www.briskoda....plitter-fitted/ anyone know where I can pick said splitter up from? I cannot find it online as of now.

And regarding the wing mirror back plates, (I assume they're called back plates? the bit that clips on the back of the actual mirror) does anyone know if they actually are removable and have the ability to be swapped?

And with the grille, would people suggest wrapping, or spraying? or buying a new one? - (http://www.ebay.co.u...#ht_1462wt_1396)

Any help is appreciated!

The splitter is off a Leon cupra r there around £30 ish direct from seat or your local tps.

Ah thanks! and does that fit on perfectly? or does it require some modification?

Snip the ends down by about an inch, trim the little uprights in the middle down by a few cm & chop some V shapes in the inside of the splitter to help it curve a bit easier. There is a guide on here somewhere but its not difficult.

Brilliant, thanks I'll have a look for the guide now.

why not go get it from a seat dealer or tps like Brian said..... daft to pay extra when dealer already has the best price.

Yeah I will be doing, although the closest one is probably the same in diesel to pick it up as it would be to deliver , but got to go there soon anyway.

Would it be best getting the wing mirror covers from the dealer too? or does anyone know of cheap alternatives? I've had a search around, but nothing definitive really.

Go to Tps, as quoted above, they will be less than the dealer. Theres one on Sadler Road in Lincoln.

Sorry, it didn't click at first what people meant by tps, I was reading it as Tp's, as in tp a person haha. I have sent them an email so waiting to hear back from them. Thanks again all!

Edit: Yep, phoned them up instead, said was coming from briskoda and have the new splitter coming next saturday. The wing mirror covers however were £25 each, while cheap I guess, I think I will only get them as a backup incase my current wing covers don't turn out right.

Hi mate, the grille in your link is the back section, you allready have this. The chrome section clips on the front of this, This is the part you can wrap or spray. The wrapping is cheap off ebay but can be fiddly to get spot on. I have mine wrapped but it would have been less hassle to spray. Although you can just heat the vinyl with a hair dryer and remove if you fancy a change.

Thanks John, I am getting the car in a week, just waiting on the plate transfer. So this means I can't actually have a look myself, but I'm curious as to how difficult it is to get the silver bit off? I have found a guide online, but obviously doesn't mention how dificult it is to get off.

And the guy at TPS said a new one is around £26 if I recall, which is a lot but but even if it turned out bad, I could get another one.

It just has a few little plastic clips, use a flat head screwdriver/key/other pointy object and be careful not to snap any off. Easy

Thanks, I'll be sure to post some before and after pics up! Looking forward to owning the car indeed.
