Skodaless Wilderness

Plenty of VWs and Audi on the streets of Washington DC but Skoda are noticeable by their absence.

"Gas" is just over $4 per US gallon so maybe there there would be an upside to living here.

Quite fancy a new Dodge Charger or a Ford Mustang. Black suits them both.

Why don't you get a VW? I really don't know why Skoda dont sale in the USA!

Probably because VW won't let them. Not Seats either I guess?

No Seats either. Came yesterday from NYC and plenty of Golf's most of them 2.5 engine. More than 50% of cars are some silly SUV V8 which look the same, big as a mini-bus.

Loads of Passat's, Audi's, some diesel but rare. New Ford Focus also, front nose same as in Europe, rear made as a sadan. Insignias also a few, with different name. Most of them fill with 87 octane petrol @ $4 gallon (3,79 litres). Premium is 91 Octane.

Second hand cars are cheap, seen some dealers there, you will get a steel with less than $10.000.

Be careful, you are not comparing like for like. The US uses MON (or PON) octane ratings which are very different to our RON ratings in the UK.

For example,

95(RON) = 91(PON) = 87(MON)
