Hi guys,

2001-2002 Fabia 1.4 MPi here!

I have a different coolant leak than the other ones I've looked up here. After running the engine it just pees right out of the back of the engine - there is a red gasket between what seems to be the water pump / timing cover housing on the right side of the engine (driver's side),

There's a fuzzy, crusty coolant residue on the face by the gasket and if you really lean in you can see the crack in the gasket.

I've posted a picture so you can see where I am coming from. Have any of you guys experienced this? It's a bit more involved than the thermostat housing and hose leaks I've seen other guys posting about!

When it comes to repairing this what would I need to look at? I have to take it to a mechanic (no hoist) but I don't want to get ripped off on parts - Anyone know what needs replacing in this situation?

PS: Also the nut for that stupid engine cover seems to spin freely now that I've removed it - I turn it for ages and it looks like it's not loosened at all. I can't wait to strip that off and clean everything, but I got bigger fish to fry here!
