Has anybody tried the 17inch Gigaros on this car as oppossed to the 16s offered and if so does it effect the road noise much. I have been told that the VRS fabia picks up a lot of road noise ?

Hi and welcome aboard.

Has anybody tried the 17inch Gigaros on this car as oppossed to the 16s offered and if so does it effect the road noise much. I have been told that the VRS fabia picks up a lot of road noise ?

The Monte Carlo has 17" wheels as does the Fabia MK II Vrs. I put the Wife's Vrs (MK II) onto 16' wheels for the winter and the ride quality/noise improved no end.

I also think the tyres play a big part in ride quality, the Wife's Vrs has Donlop sport Maxx fitted from the factory and they are utter rubbish.

The tyre pressures on the Vrs are high, around 36/37 Psi (off the top of my head). if these wheels and tyres are fitted to a non Vrs or Monty carlo i'm unsure to the tyre pressures. Pressures also play a part in road noise

Hope that helps.

Hello & welcome. I did not find my Fabia vRS particularly noisy but really this type of thing is down to individual perception.
