I know, it is perfectible, but as you can see, it did the job for me.

signs for vacuum leaks:

- the rubber glove doesn't stay almost inflated

- the obvious smoke exhaust pinpoints the leak.

NOTES:

1) some minor leaks are normal only around throttle plate shaft(s)

2) depending on valves position, some air might escape if they overlap

what did you make the smoke with?

it's in the video description.

"for smoke you can use eggs box cardboard, bee smoking pellets or even a bunch of incense sticks. You lit them, make them smoke without flame, toss them into the jar, and seal shut the jar cover"

you can also use dry ice + hot water, but use a metal can instead of the jar.

another idea would be to wrap small pieces of ping-pong balls in Al tinfoil leaving a very small hole for smoke to get out, then heat the foil with a lighter.

if you count materials for smoking food, there are endless possibilities.
